X-URL: http://www.OMNIport.net/ Subject: OMNIport Technical Update Hello, Concerning the move by our regional provider ... the move is still in process. At 6:00am this morning (October 1, 1999) the move started. At present, Fri Oct 1 10:42:01 CDT 1999 ... they are still working on rebuilding their infrastructure. We are as suprized by the length of the move as you all are. So far, we have not been able to get in touch with ANYONE from the regional provider and know only that which we can determine from our own network investigations. We have seen certain paths internal to the regional provider open up in the last half hour, so progress of some sort is happening. Once the move is completed, all services will be back to normal. At present, e-mail is out-bound only ... and will be stored on our servers until the move completes. All inbound mail will be stored by the respective servers at the origination points. Web browsing beyond OMNIport.net and all those sites hosted by OMNIport is currently out and will be restored when the move completes. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused all of you, however we have no control over their systems. Thank you for your patience, OMNIport Technical Support >1) We will be moving our facilities On Friday, October 1 to the Chase > Texas Towers (Bass Tower I) in Downtown Fort Worth. > We expect a short downtime period around 5am while circuits are > brought up at the new facilities. > >Should you be on-line during that time, you may experience a short interruption >in upstream connectivity. Please be patient and retry links until you get >through. Dial-up connections will not be effected, along with e-mail services. > >This facility move will provide you with benefits. With the move, OMNIport >will be able to migrate the existing analog dialup lines to pure digital >lines, allowing those dialing into the Hurst POP up to 56K bps connections. >We will send an update when this is all in place, though it is expected to >happen in the beginning of November.
